What year is my Samsung TV?

How do I find my Samsung TV model number?
It is on the sticker on the back of the TV, and on the TV itself under Settings, then Support, then About This TV. It looks like UN55TU7000FXZA or QN65Q80TAFXZA.
Which letter in a Samsung model number is the year?
On QLED, Neo QLED, OLED, The Frame and 2025 Crystal UHD models it is the letter right after the series number (Q80T is 2020, QN90A is 2021, S95B is 2022). On older Crystal UHD models it is the first letter pair (TU is 2020, AU is 2021, CU is 2023).
Can I control my Samsung TV from my phone?
Yes, for Samsung Smart TVs from 2016 on, over the same Wi-Fi. Accept the prompt on the TV the first time. Older Samsung smart TVs are not supported.
Is my Samsung TV too old for a phone remote?
If the decoder shows 2015 or earlier, yes. Those sets use an older system that phone remote apps cannot control; a Samsung replacement remote or a universal IR remote is the fix.
